Using Essential oils in the Air Freshener Spray is the simplest form of purifying your home from unwanted things that disturb us physically and mentally. Making DIY air freshener is quite simple. All you need is best essential oil blends or essential oil and some water.

Take a new or old spray bottle and add some water in it. Don’t fill the bottle as the EO can degrade the rubber part at the top of the spray bottle.

Add few drops of essential oil blends of your choice
Mix the solution well and close the spray bottle.
Now you have your DIY air freshener spray ready to Spritz.
Spritzed anywhere, it may be your kitchen, laundry, bedroom, bathroom or any other area of your home or office that require a fresh scent.

Shake well before you use the air freshener since the essential oils gets separate and start to flow on the liquid surface.

Homemade Reed Diffuser

Do you want to make your home smell sweet with reed diffusers? Reed diffusers are better alternative than the commercially made room fresheners in terms of money and safety.

To make an essential oil reed diffuser you will need 5 things and these can be sourced quite inexpensively.

You will need a jar that should be wider at the bottom and narrow at the top. Because using this narrow opening your essential oils will vaporize slowly. These jars would cost around $1 each. You can even use your old perfume bottle or spice jar. If your jars come with wide opening, make sure to have a cork top. Drill it with 1” hole. Viola, now you have a small opening!

Fill the jar with 1/4 cup of distilled water or use carrier oil at the base. If you use water in the diffuser, it will evaporate quicker than the oil.
You will need a little alcohol to make the oils thinner and bind them together.

Now you can add the best smelling essential oil blends with the base (water or oil). To add with 1/4 cup of oil, you will need 10-25 drops of EO blends.
Now insert the reeds (sticks) into the EO blends. These reeds have small holes through which essential oil travel up the air and scent the room.
Flip the reeds once a week. When the reed is fully saturated replace it with the new reeds.

Keep the homemade essential oil reed diffuser in any place you love and start dispersing the essential oil throughout your home.

Water Bead Diffuser

Water bead diffuser is another fairly inexpensive ways to enjoy aromatherapy at home. You can easily make the water beads diffuser at home with only 3 ingredients. water beads, jar or empty bottle and some best essential oil blends.

Fill the jar with water leaving only 2 inches at the top.
Soak the water beads in the jar for 6 hours.
After water beads have grown, pour out the excess water.
Now mix the best smelling essential oils of your choice with the water beads. 10+ drops would be enough for the water beads diffuser.
In order to prevent water beads from shrinking, add little water as and when it’s needed.

Take your favorite best essential oils and a few cotton balls. Dip these balls into the essential oils and put it in your couch, living room, kids study room, bathroom or under the drawer, etc.

For example Rosemary and Peppermint Oils are basically known to increase concentration power and memory. So dip a cotton ball in these oils and place it in your kid’s study room. It will add fragrance to the room and also help your kids to memorize things faster.

Mojito Scented Gelatin Air Freshener

To create a mojito scented gel air freshener, you will need the best smelling essential oils lime and mint, green food coloring and gelatin.

Fill a container with 75% of distilled water. Add 1 to 3 drops of food coloring into the container.

Heat water and salt until the saucepan start boiling. Now switch off the heat and add this mixture into the food coloring container.

Now add gelatin into the container and add the essential oils one by one until you get the desired scent.

Take this mixture and pour it in the glasses, leaving only 1/2 inch at the top
Let it be in the same way for 4 to 6 hours ( until it is set).

DIY Oil Diffuser

Inside the jar pour 2/3rd of water, 1 tbsp of water storing crystals and 20 drops of essential oil blends. Stir these mixtures well. In order to spread the aroma throughout the room, leave this jar without the lid or with decorative aluminum sheet fitted lid.

DIY Plug-In Refill

You should have an empty plugin at your home (If you do not have, get one from your friends home). Instead of putting them to be refilled with some artificial refills, make your own EO refill. Making a DIY plugin-refill is as simple as it is.

Take an empty Plugin and remove its wick.

Pour a few drops of your favorite best essential oil blends till the bulb is filled with 25% of its total capacity.
Now add water and put the wick to be reinserted again.
Give a little shake and fix the plugin in your desired place.
